What's an endocrine center (also called "chakra")?![]() The word chakra is from the Sanskrit meaning "wheel." Ancient Eastern cultures were sensitive enough to detect the energies in and around our bodies and perceived the seven primary chakras, which in the West we most often refer to as "energy centers" or sometimes "spiritual centers." There is much literature on the centers for you to research. Suffice it to say here that the centers circulate like vortexes or globes just in front of the body in these seven locations: -- the root chakra is at the groin, -- the second center's location varies by culture, but is most often in the abdomen at or below the navel or near the spleen, -- the third is the solar plexus, -- the fourth is the heart, -- the fifth is the base of the throat, -- the sixth and seventh are the third eye and crown or top of head. There is also an earth center below our feet and several centers above our heads that are thought to connect us with our higher selves on up to the Infinite. There are also minor chakras in our palms and feet, and also tiny ones at each joint in the body. A relatively new system, called Human Design, claims that humans are evolving into bodies with nine centers that play even more specialized roles in determining our genetic codes and the information from other levels of our energy beings that shape who we are in the earth. Each of our current seven centers contains "information," like a database, ranging from cultural to family values, self-perceptions and feelings, to self-expression, beliefs and creativity, as well as past life information, some claim. The seven chakras link with our endocrine glands, our hormone-producers. The energies of the glands and the centers are in kind of a feedback loop with each other, exchanging information on a vibrational or frequency level. Our question for now is, how is our health affected by the centers? For part of the answer, please refer to the biofield page. In addition to that information, we need to understand that the health of the centers affects the function of our endocrine glands -- from immune function to hormone balance. On the emotional level, the function of the centers can be affected by traumatic experiences, as well as by fixed mental and emotional patterns. Since the chakras are an energy source for us, we may unconsciously "give away" energy on that level to try to balance a disturbing event, for example, a childhood trauma. But we don't actually "give away"; we trade, that is, we take on a part of that trauma in exchange for our healthy energy. The problem is that we end up carrying around other people's "stuff" that ends up like a handicap throughout our lives. Worse, we mistakenly assume, as we grow older, that it is "our stuff" and we find ourselves trapped in playing out patterns and forming life perceptions and self-assessments that are inaccurate and not who we really are in essence. As brief as this explanation of the chakras is, I hope you can see how vital a role they play in our health physically, mentally, emotionally and even spiritually. QuantumPlus helps clear out old patterns, re-establish healthy circulation of the centers and coordinate them with each other so that they -- and we -- can function as an integrated whole system for a higher level of health, vitality, clarity and inner peace.
