Healing Affinities in holistic health are apparent in the following examples from Jesus' healing ministry: Physical Affinity: Jesus used mud on the eyes of a blind man to restore his sight. Obviously, the mud had no intrinsic power and Jesus could just as easily have touched the eyes with His hands. But Physical Affinity people have bodies that need to feel something happening (swallowing a pill, being touched) for the healing response to trigger. Mental Affinity: When Jesus said "Arise and walk" to a crippled man, He was communicating healing instructions to that body, which Mental Affinity people need -- some form of body-talk or mental visualization or a mentally communicated message to trigger the healing response. Spiritual Affinity: When a woman in the crowd touched the hem of Jesus' garment, that was an example of her faith triggering her body's healing response. She knew/believed that was all she needed to be healed. Similarly, when the Roman soldier asked Jesus to heal his man-servant, this was a dual example of faith or spiritual healing, along with distance healing. In reviewing the examples of Jesus' healing ministry, I feel that these distinct approaches are representative of what I've come to understand as Healing Affinities.
